Double Olives

You may have seen this title before.  It was a Wordless Wednesday photo that I took of my husband's martini glass, frosted with olives.   Right before he poured the martini.  Remember, because you read all my posts, RIGHT?

Here it is, just in case you missed it.

Well, it got me all excited again, so I thought I would paint it.  I had a lot of fun doing it and added glass gel beads to illuminate the glass.  Also I added a touch of iridescent green to the olives.  Pretty cool in the right light, and not to over whelming.  

I really like it.  I am going to put it in an art show I have coming up this Wedensday.

Ahi Bruschetta- again because it's THAT good

I know I have posted this before but really, it needs to be posted again because this is just soooo good.

So you need something for that party or you just want to chow down for dinner, this is the dish.

Recipe Courtesy of Home Cooking the Costco Way

I tried this recipe for a holiday party we hosted and it was a big hit.  Very easy to prepare too!

8 oz fresh ahi tuna (with good red color)
2 Tbsp minced green onions
3 Tbsp mayonnaise                                                             
1 Tbsp seasoning: equal parts black,
white, red pepper and garlic powder                                                    
1 Tbsp toasted sesame oil
1 Tbsp sesame seeds, toasted
1 Tbsp Chinese mustard



Baguette sliced into 1/2 in slices, lightly toasted
Pickled ginger and dill for garnish

Mince tuna with a sharp knife into 1/4 by 1/4 inch cubes (or as uniform in size as possible).

Place tuna in a bowl and add green onions,mayonnaise,seasoning, sesame oil, sesame seeds and mustard.  Stir to blend.

Mold the tuna into a small cup and garnish with dill sprigs.  Serve with toasted baguette slices and pickled ginger on the side.


Makes 8-10 servings

Well, It's that time again and this week I have decided to include a blog hop too.Any takers?  Create your own Acts of Randomness with at least 5 different random thoughts.I want to know what your thinking!  It really is a great therapy session. Instructions at bottom of page.

I am so overdue for a full blown rambling of life accumulations.  

The house is coming along nicely but I am seriously SICK of putting things away. 

I am the chairperson for the Masterpiece Art Program at my son's school.Lots of work but it really puts all the experience of years of teaching kids art (for next to nothing) to the test.

Sports and school are starting up again. Enough said. 

With the new house comes entertaining, which equals packing in the busy schedule even more. But we love our friends so well worth it. 

Just bought the full line of Swiffer products. Do those rock or what?? That company must seriously be run by a woman because that Swiffer vac is totally awesome on my tile floors.

I had the Malware thingy appear on my blog again. I had to ignore it because I was so busy and miraculously, it just went away. I am keeping my fingers crossed. 

Thing #1 is 6 and he is always coping an attitude now. What's up with that? What happened to my sweet little boy. I'm a little tired of the mind games.

Thing #2 is 4 and is being the sweetest thing EVER. Please let that last a little longer!

I keep waking up in the middle of the night with songs in my head. My brain hasn't heard them for hours then decides at 3am to throw a little dance party. Uhhh.

My mom decided to start a project of making a family cookbook and now wants me to help. Of course I will but, how does she always pick the worst times.

Thing 2 is learning Spanish in school and called me mamita.  As in, "Will you sleep with me mamita".  This child is whiter than white and got none of his Latin genes...well actually I guess he got a little. Anyway, it sent Thing #1 into hysterics and we all had a pleasant laugh before bed.

Ahhh, Acts of Randomness therapy session successful again.

Comment Moderation

The other day I was reading Jen's blog over at Jen's Ink Pen.  She posted a cute little story about blogging etiquette that I really think everyone should read. Click here to view the whole story. You will have to follow the links, but so worth it.

One of the great things that I got from it was comment moderation through e-mail.  I had only wanted the comment moderation because I didn't want to miss any comments, especially on the older posts. But with this tutorial, it is so easy to have the comments sent directly to your e-mail and then the comments post immediately.

So thanks you to all who participated in passing on this etiquette post.
